The United States has imposed visa sanctions on four members of Georgia's High Council of Justice, accusing them of "significant corruption." This was reported by РИА Новости, citing US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to the statement, "These individuals have abused their positions as heads of Georgia's courts and members of the High Council of Justice, undermining the rule of law and public trust in Georgia's legal system."

Consequently, visa sanctions have been applied to Mikheil Chinchaladze, Levan Murusidze, Irakli Shengelia, and Valerian Tsertvadze. The High Council of Justice serves as the main governing body of judicial power in Georgia and is positioned as a guarantor of its independence.
