According to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reforms are necessary in the UN Security Council due to its 'instability'. He stated, 'The current structure of the UN Security Council is unstable, which is why 5 countries influence the 'fate of humanity'. It is imperative to reform the UN Security Council immediately with a new and comprehensive understanding.'

According to various news reports, he is referring to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council: Russia, China, the USA, France, and the UK.

It is worth noting that in March 2022, Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also mentioned that the Ukrainian conflict highlights the need for reforms in the UN Security Council.
