The Text of the Decision on the Rome Statute Case Has Been Published
The Constitutional Court has published the text of its decision regarding the Rome Statute case. For more details, click here.
It is noteworthy that the Constitutional Court recognized the obligations enshrined in the International Criminal Court's Rome Statute, which was signed on July 17, 1998, as compliant with the constitution.
In 2022, the Government appealed to the Constitutional Court on this issue. The Government has revisited the recognition of the Rome Statute, as they see the potential for holding Azerbaijan accountable based on the justification of this initiative.
The Hague Court is the first international body to investigate crimes of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of military aggression.
