VIDEO: Mirzoyan Meets with Josep Borrell – What We Know
On March 3, during a working visit to New Delhi, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
The two discussed issues on the agenda of Armenia-EU partnership. They both emphasized the importance of the deployment of the EU civilian monitoring mission in Armenia, which officially began its operations on February 20.
Regional and international security issues were also addressed. Mirzoyan informed his counterpart about the latest developments in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Addressing the humanitarian situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan stressed the imperative to unblock the corridor unconditionally, in accordance with the provisions of the November 9, 2020 declaration.
In this context, the active involvement of the international community was highlighted to ensure that Azerbaijan complies with the legally binding decision regarding the urgent measures issued by the International Court of Justice on February 22.
