Turkish Government Rejects Elon Musk's Proposal
The Turkish government has rejected Elon Musk's proposal to send Starlink network terminals to the country to help address the consequences of the earthquake, Bloomberg reports.
According to a senior Turkish official, the government is grateful for such an offer but believes it has sufficient equipment to provide satellite communication.
Incidentally, the Starlink network is designed to ensure internet access by deploying a large number of devices weighing 260 kg each. According to SpaceX, it will be able to provide broadband internet access at speeds of 1 gigabit per second, meeting 5G standards.
