Peskov Rejects Attempts to Set Gas Price Ceiling

Attempts to set a ceiling on gas prices are unacceptable. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, according to РИА Новости.

“The principles are the same here. This is a violation of the market pricing process, an encroachment on it. Any reference to a ceiling is unacceptable. Time will be required, as both sides will carefully weigh the arguments for and against. The processes related to oil have been somewhat prolonged,” he told reporters.

He added that there will be a response regarding gas, similar to what occurred with oil.
