Public Misled: Proceedings Initiated Against Yandex Taxi and Yandex Eats

The Competition Protection Commission has initiated proceedings against Yandex Taxi and Yandex Eats LLC for apparent features of unfair competition manifested in misleading the public.

Specifically, the Commission has taken into account the following:

1. A publication on the website eats.yandex.com states "All deliveries are free", yet free delivery was only available until November 15, 2022, which is only mentioned on their Facebook page.
2. A publication on the website states "All deliveries are free", while there is a significant condition for free delivery, which is a purchase of 1,500 AMD or more, and this condition is not disclosed.
3. Promotions in the Yandex Eats: food delivery and YandexGo mobile applications state, "1,350 AMD discount from Yandex Eats", yet the essential conditions for utilizing this promotion are not mentioned, such as the necessity of entering a promo code, which promo code this is, and that this discount can only be used once for the first order.
4. Advertisements in the Yandex Eats and YandexGo applications proclaim, "From burgers to burritos, -10%", however, a 10% discount is not applied when ordering.
