Russia to Strengthen Nuclear Arsenal: Shoigu Details Plans
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated today that special attention will be given to the infrastructure changes of Russian nuclear forces. He assured that Russia will strengthen its nuclear arsenal and the combat capabilities of this weaponry.
According to him, new missile production centers are currently being established. “In the major construction projects of 2023, special attention will be devoted to the creation of facilities necessary for strategic nuclear forces,” Shoigu noted.
Russia possesses the largest nuclear arsenal in the world, with the number of warheads reaching around 6,000. The Kremlin has declared the occupied territories of Ukraine as an inseparable part of the Russian Federation, threatening that it is prepared to use all available means for their defense, hinting at the possibility of using nuclear weapons if necessary.
The United States has declared that the potential use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine by Russia would have severe consequences.
