The Use of Nuclear Weapons is a Hostile Act Against Humanity: Japan's Prime Minister
During his visit to Australia, Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida stated today that the potential use of nuclear weapons by Russians in Ukraine would constitute a hostile act against humanity. He remarked, "The implications of using nuclear weapons pose a serious threat to global security and peace, and are absolutely unacceptable."
The Group of Seven summit is scheduled to take place in Hiroshima next May. This Japanese city became the first victim of a nuclear attack. On August 6, 1945, Americans dropped an uranium bomb on the city, resulting in the deaths of at least 140,000 people. Three days later, on August 9, 1945, Americans obliterated Nagasaki with a plutonium bomb, killing approximately 80,000 people. Since then, nuclear weapons have never been used again in the world.
"The use of such weapons is a hostile act against humanity. It has not been deployed for 77 years; the international community must ensure that nuclear weapons are never used again," said the head of the Japanese government.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has hinted multiple times at the possibility of using tactical nuclear weapons under certain circumstances, causing serious concern worldwide.
