National Assembly Calls Special Session on Dismissal of Saghatelyan and Hakobyan

Tomorrow, on July 1st, at 11:00 AM, the National Assembly will hold a special session to discuss the removal of opposition deputies from the positions of Deputy Speaker and permanent commission chair.

The initiative for the special session comes from the "Civil Contract" faction. The agenda for the special session was also formed based on proposals from the faction's deputies.

The Council of the National Assembly approved both the convening of the session and its agenda during today’s meeting.

The agenda includes two items:
1. On the recall of Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, from the position of Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
2. On the termination of Vahé Hakobyan's powers as the chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

On June 28, Secretary of the "Civil Contract" faction, Arthur Hovhannisyan, announced that the faction decided to remove Ishkhan Saghatelyan, representing the "Armenia" faction, from the position of Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, as well as Vahé Hakobyan from chairmanship of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.
