Artsakh's Ombudsman Appeals to Young Hunger Strikers
The Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, Gegham Stepanyan, has addressed the young individuals who declared a hunger strike in Yerevan’s Freedom Square, specifically Nver Kirakosyan and Arthur Avagyan.
“I appeal as a representative of a generation of independence, as an Armenian, as a resident of Artsakh, and as a person whose fate is also a concern for those young men who have taken such a step. I ask you to stop the hunger strike,” Stepanyan stated.
“Each of your lives and health is precious to our Artsakh people, and the threat to your well-being worries us. Therefore, I urge you to cease this hunger strike, which carries the risk of self-harm. At the same time, I propose to meet at the earliest opportunity in Artsakh to exchange thoughts and discuss the numerous issues and challenges related to our homeland and the rights of the individuals living in Artsakh that concern us all. I hope you will respond positively to my request and proposal,” he wrote.
