Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Kara-Murza, along with other Russian opposition leaders and public figures, established the Russia Anti-War Committee, according to the Telegram channel. Among other things, they called on the global community to label the political leadership of the Russian Federation, which ordered the invasion of Ukraine, as "war criminals" and "violators of international law."
