Putin's Call to Macron and Scholz
Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Ukraine during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as reported by the Kremlin's press service.
The Russian head of state specifically pointed out numerous violations of international humanitarian law by Kyiv's forces and called for action to influence Kyiv to halt these violations in Ukraine. He stated that Ukrainian nationalist battalions regularly disrupt operations aimed at rescuing the population.
President Putin informed his counterparts about the humanitarian situation in the areas where defensive operations in Donbas are being conducted. He elaborated on the recent negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
As a result of the conversation, the leaders agreed to continue their communications regarding the Ukrainian issue and discussed questions related to the arrangements being developed for the implementation of Russian demands. Scholz and Macron, in turn, emphasized the necessity of a ceasefire in Ukraine and finding a diplomatic solution, as reported by the chancellor's press service.
