French and Russian Foreign Ministers Discuss Situation in Ukraine
The French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, has held a phone conversation with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, to discuss the situation in Ukraine. This information has been reported by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The minister expressed deep concern regarding the recent tensions in eastern Ukraine. The unprecedented number of ceasefire violations recorded by the OSCE mission contradicts the commitments made during the last exchange of views in the Normandy format,” the ministry's statement said.
It was noted that the French Foreign Minister warned that any aggression against Ukraine's territorial integrity would result in severe consequences. He emphasized that in the event of an attack, European countries and their allies would be united in imposing massive sanctions.
