Finland Maintains Possibility of NATO Membership Application
Finland maintains the possibility of applying for NATO membership. This was stated by the country's Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"As noted in Finland's government report on foreign and security policy, published in the autumn of 2020, Finland's foreign, security, and defense policies are based on maneuvering and ensuring a place for choice in the national plan. From this standpoint, we retain the possibility of applying for NATO membership," he said.
He also mentioned that when making decisions, the actual situation is always taken into account, considering the changes occurring in the field of security in the international context.
