Biden and Macron Have Had a Phone Conversation

US President Joe Biden held a phone conversation today with French leader Emmanuel Macron following his recent visits to Moscow and Kyiv. This was announced during a press briefing by White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

“The President spoke with President Macron this morning. I expect that he will speak with several other European partners throughout the week,” Psaki said.

According to her, Washington is still unable to assess how successful the meeting between Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin was from the US perspective. Psaki clarified that the American side is paying attention to whether “Russia is taking steps towards de-escalation.”
