A Search Warrant for Boris Avagyan has been Issued
Since February 4, a search warrant has been issued by the Central Police Department for Boris Avagyan, a 41-year-old registered in the Center administrative district of Yerevan.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, he is wanted under Article 190, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code (legalization of property obtained through criminal activities, money laundering, in particularly large amounts).
In April 2021, Boris Avagyan was removed from his position as Deputy Director of the Emergency Situations State Service (ESSS) by the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Artsakh, Karen Sargsyan, due to opinions he expressed during a press conference held in Yerevan.
According to the announcement, Avagyan did not inform the higher authorities about the press conference he organized and spoke on topics beyond his authority.
