Lukashenko: 'We Will Be Forced to Deploy an Entire Army at the Border with Ukraine'
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has announced that Minsk will be forced to deploy "an entire army of the Belarusian army" at the border with Ukraine, as he claims that Kyiv has begun to move troops closer to the area. This statement was reported by the press service of the Belarusian president.
"We will be forced to deploy the entire Belarusian army there. We simply want to protect our southern border. We are not the ones who began to pay attention to our southern border. It is the Ukrainians who started to move troops closer. I do not understand why," said Lukashenko.
He also confirmed the decision regarding the protection of Belarus's borders made in 2022. According to the country's border committee, main defense efforts in 2022 will be directed towards areas where new external challenges and threats to border security may emerge.
