Lilit Makunts's Brother Transferred to the Ministry of Defense with Suren Papikyan

The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, has appointed Vahé Makunts, the brother of the US Ambassador to Armenia, Lilit Makunts, as his assistant. This was reported by 168.am.

It is noted that prior to this appointment, Vahé Makunts was relieved of his duties as assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister, based on a decision made by Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan.

Additionally, Makunts had previously served as Papikyan's assistant during his tenure as Deputy Prime Minister.

It was also reported earlier that Suren Papikyan brought 23-year-old Mane Markosyan to the Ministry of Defense, who was appointed as assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister in August 2021, a time when Papikyan was fulfilling the Deputy Prime Minister's duties himself.

The young assistant of the Minister of Defense also previously served as an assistant to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
