What Should Armenia Do? Military Expert Elaborates
Military expert Karen Hovhannisyan posted on his Facebook page: Azerbaijan is becoming more and more audacious. Guided by the principle that there is no delimitation and demarcation, it arrogantly claims the right to demand that it be convinced that the territory it occupies is Armenian and not Azerbaijani. In other words, it forcefully occupies a territory and then asks, 'What grounds do you have to say this is Armenian? I assert that it is Azerbaijani.' This is a destructive policy that incites clashes. Azerbaijan is confident that in the event of a confrontation, it will succeed again with the help of Turkey.
What should Armenia do? First, it should initiate proceedings against Azerbaijan on international platforms, which have numerous bases; for instance, this task could be entrusted to the Human Rights Defender of Armenia. Secondly, it should start working seriously with strategic partners to determine whether they are with us or exclusively for their own interests. If they are with us, then they must act; if they are only serving their interests, then we should look for new strategic partners and not be afraid of that thought.
Thirdly, we need to reduce all types of expenses and direct those savings to the military budget. We have already lost a year, but it is not too late; we can restore the military potential within just two years, not only returning it to its previous state but surpassing it significantly.
