Video: We Must Mourn and Regret Our Soldiers' Loss but Be Prepared for Such Incidents, Aghazaryan

“Unfortunately, the border tension will continue until the border clarification process is completed and a peace agreement is signed. Our neighbors may carry out provocative actions to report to certain forces or to mobilize society against the government. Therefore, we must mourn and regret our soldiers’ loss, but we must be prepared for such situations,” said Hayk Aghazaryan, a member of the Civil Contract parliamentary group, in an interview with 24News, referring to the casualties and injuries resulting from provocations by Azerbaijan on January 11.

“If we do not open an era of peace, what is the alternative? We are doomed to live alongside Azerbaijan and Turkey. Since the Minister of Defense is from our political team, we are already open to delivering a counter-strike against the enemy. If a border incident had occurred during the previous Minister of Defense's term, I would have said it was due to them; now there are no excuses because the minister is from our political team. Suren Papikyan differs from previous ministers; he has not had any dealings with former generals or colonels,” the deputy added.
