Newly Elected Mayor Will Not Join the Civil Contract Party
The newly elected mayor of Yerevan, Hrachya Sargsyan, has announced that he does not plan to join the Civil Contract Party.
"We do not have such discussions. I am non-partisan and have taken on the duties of the mayor to manage the projects I have started, while at the same time ensuring the broken links that existed between the executive, legislative bodies, and the council are addressed," he stated during a press briefing with reporters.
Sargsyan also revealed that he intends to propose Levon Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the My Step faction, for the position of the first deputy mayor. He noted that there would be personnel changes anticipated within the Yerevan city hall and in administrative districts.
