«Dear people, I apologize for the months of your suffering»: Vardevanyan on the Constitutional Court's decision

Member of the 'Armenia' alliance, Aram Vardevanyan, has made a statement:

“It is UNCONSTITUTIONAL to impose the cost of PCR testing on our compatriots! This is a decision of the Supreme Court. Dear people, I apologize for the suffering you have endured due to the unconstitutional behavior of this government for so many months...”

It is noteworthy that the Constitutional Court recognized the order of the Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, as unconstitutional, which mandated that unvaccinated employees must periodically undergo mandatory PCR testing at their own expense.

“The phrase ‘the employee undergoes PCR testing at their own expense’ has been recognized as inconsistent with Articles 1, 2, and 39 of Article 6 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and, therefore, invalid,” announced the President of the Constitutional Court, Arman Dilanyan, while publishing the decision.

According to the Constitutional Court’s decision, the definition of subjects responsible for the cost of testing is “beyond the scope of the authority of the health minister.”

The Constitutional Court's decision is final and takes effect from the moment of publication.
