Has Stepanyan Galstyan Testified? The Defender Provides Details
The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Stepanyan Galstyan, has not provided any testimony to date. This was stated by his defender Hakob Martirosyan in a conversation with NEWS.am, responding to the information published in the 'Jahangir' newspaper regarding the criminal case initiated against Davit Tonoyan, claiming that Stepanyan Galstyan had testified during the preliminary investigation.
'I have met with Mr. Galstyan and am authorized to declare on his behalf that the material published in the 'Jahangir' newspaper does not correspond to objective reality and is absolutely false. Up to now, Stepanyan Galstyan has not provided any testimony during the preliminary investigation.'
'I would also like to inform you that on November 30, 2021, I submitted a request for Stepanyan Galstyan to receive medical assistance and necessary surgical interventions at the National Security Service's investigation department, which was approved by the prosecuting authority on the same day. Currently, measures are being taken to ensure that Galstyan receives treatment at an appropriate specialized medical institution.'
