Azerbaijan's Aliyev Demands Announcement on the Opening of the Zangezur Corridor
During a meeting with villagers in the Quba region yesterday, the President of Azerbaijan referenced the war, stating: "Armenia and the whole world saw that no one could stop us. There were those who wished to, including some quite powerful circles, but they failed. I demanded to be informed of the day of the liberation of our lands; only then would we cease our actions. I say the same now: announce when the Zangezur corridor will open, and there will be no issues."
At the same time, Ilham Aliyev emphasized that it would be better for this issue to be resolved constructively through negotiations and mutual understanding. However, he also warned that as long as it is not too late, Armenia must accept Azerbaijan's conditions and put an end to its "insincere" stance on issues related to roads and communications.
It is noteworthy that President Aliyev's statement follows the discussions among the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia regarding the unblocking of roads in Moscow, where the parties did not issue a joint statement at the conclusion. Earlier, following trilateral negotiations involving Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan in Sochi, Vladimir Putin had stated that decisions had been made to be announced by the deputy prime ministers' committee.
