Public Transport Payments to Transition to New System, Says Hayk Marutyan

"This will even be better than in some European cities, as it will be the most modern system," said Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan during the Yerevan City Council session today, noting that the implementation of a card payment system for public transport will begin in 2-3 months.

According to the mayor, a competition for the introduction of the electronic payment system will be announced this week. "Both cash payment systems and electronic systems will temporarily operate, and after some time, we will completely transition to the electronic system," said Hayk Marutyan.
