I Understand How You Are Fighting Inflation: Elinar Vardanian to Government Deputies

We are discussing a project that is not substantiated in any way. It has become a culture. The National Assembly is presented with bills whose justification means nothing. This was stated by Elinar Vardanian, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, during the discussion of the draft law on reducing the non-working days for New Year.

“When presenting bills, respect both the National Assembly and the citizens. You cannot justify a bill by quoting here,” emphasized Elinar Vardanian.

The deputy believes that the government is going to extremes. It may be necessary to reduce the New Year holidays, but not in this manner. She doubts that the ministry discussed the program with all interested businesses before presenting it.

“During the New Year holidays, no hotel in Armenia will have empty rooms. Can you imagine the damage hotels will incur? Have you spoken to them? They will come from Dilijan to work on January 2, and then return to Dilijan in the evening? You say the people will not take loans. Your duty is to fight so that the people do not have a problem of taking loans, not to say we are reducing holidays so they don’t have to take loans. I understand how you are fighting inflation now. You say we will reduce the holidays so people won’t have a problem spending money, this is how we will fight it and the people will not suffer that everything is expensive,” said the deputy.
