Opposition Initiates Urgent Meeting Regarding Situation at the Contact Line: Tigran Abrahamyan
The situation at the contact line between Artsakh and Armenia, as well as issues related to demarcation and delimitation, have garnered widespread public interest. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the 'Honorary Title' parliamentary faction, during a press conference today.
According to him, the government has not addressed these issues and has not responded to the problems raised by the opposition. 'We have questions about what reforms have been made in the armed forces in the post-war period, and whether Armenia is prepared to confront the challenges that may arise,' he said.
Abrahamyan also mentioned that he had addressed the General Staff in order to visit the contact line and be present in the Sotk-Khoznavar section, but the General Staff did not respond to his request, and later the Ministry of Defense announced that his visit to that area was not advisable.
The MP stated, 'The government is trying to conceal the existing circumstances at the contact line. Moreover, we have a very complicated situation related to demarcation.' He emphasized that there are many questions, and their answers should be provided during the urgent meeting of the National Assembly.
