Remarkable Incident During Investigators' Journey from Syunik to Yerevan

'Joghour' newspaper reports that after the snap parliamentary elections in 2021, authorities declared war on all community leaders who had criticized the Civil Contract party, Nikol Pashinyan, or worked in favor of the current opposition during the elections. As a result, a number of investigators were dispatched from Yerevan to the Syunik region, initiating a process of arresting community leaders and questioning them in Yerevan.

According to information from 'Joghour,' on the day the community leaders from Syunik were arrested and transported to Yerevan, law enforcement officials found themselves in a remarkable situation. Our sources indicate that before the investigators transported the arrested community leaders by car to Yerevan, their relatives and witnesses involved in the case arrived in Yerevan by helicopter ahead of the investigators and welcomed their loved ones at the police stations. This means that the witnesses in the cases of the detained community leaders were more prompt than the investigators themselves. The investigators still recall and discuss the events of those days.
