Azerbaijan's Actions Should Worry Not Only Russia but Also the USA and France, Says Parliament Speaker

Today, on October 9, as a result of terrorist actions, a sniper from Azerbaijan shot and killed 55-year-old Aram Tephnants, a resident of Martakert, who was engaged in agricultural work in the fields adjacent to the city of Martakert.

Azerbaijan's sole aim is to instill panic among the residents of border settlements. This act of terrorism occurred against the backdrop of the OSCE Minsk Group planning visits to Yerevan, Baku, and also Stepanakert.

We strongly condemn Azerbaijan's aggressive behavior, which aims to undermine the mission of the Russian peacekeeping forces, as stated in the announcement by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia. Such provocative actions should concern not only the Russian Federation but also the co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group, namely the USA and France.

We call on the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to develop appropriate mechanisms to hold accountable those responsible for aggression and to prevent further violations of the ceasefire.
