Nikol Solved the Artsakh Issue in a Way Acceptable to the Azerbaijani People, This Was Aliyev's Message: Artak Zakaryan

Former Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan has made a Facebook post stating: “In an emphasized pro-Azerbaijani interview lasting 1 hour and 40 minutes with Igor Korotchenko, Nikol's elder brother Ilham Aliyev spoke about the 44-day war, its causes, and consequences. In summary, what did he say one year after the war? The key messages are:

1. The second Artsakh war was initiated by the Armenian side by opening mass artillery fire along the line of contact and towards peaceful settlements.
2. Over the past 30 years, Armenia had established a strong defensive system, the majority of its engineering and fortification structures still remain today. Armenia had control over Azerbaijan’s strategic assets and had the means to damage them, possessing closed information. Thus, Azerbaijan was forced to frequently introduce adjustments and changes to its operational-tactical plans.
3. The current leadership of Armenia has engaged in overt provocations. The statement ‘Artsakh is Armenia and that’s it’ was in fact a withdrawal from the peaceful resolution process. Moreover, Defense Minister Tonoyan's expression ‘New war, new territories’ was perceived by Azerbaijan as an insult and a humiliation to its dignity, as well as a disregard for the internationally mediated peace process.
4. Armenia sparked and incited the war in July 2020 by executing a diversion along the Tavush border and bombarding Azerbaijani peaceful settlements.
5. For decades, Armenia and the Diaspora convinced the world that Azerbaijanis were a threat to Armenians; that Artsakh is historic Armenia, and that Azerbaijan as a dictatorship should be sanctioned while Artsakh should have the right to self-determination.
6. Armenians effectively fled from Kovsakan (Zangelan), defended Sanasar (Qubadli) well for a few days before surrendering. They misled their people, stating that they controlled Hadrut.
7. During the war, Armenians organized two foolish operations for counteroffensive purposes, which broke the Armenian defensive line and resulted in significant losses.
8. The capture of Shushi is the crown of our victory, which we aspired to for a long time while traversing through forests, under poor weather conditions, and with a lack of roads, using light equipment until we reached Shushi. (How else can I say that the south of Artsakh and Shushi were simply handed over to them).
9. Armenians along with the Diaspora had been conducting very active, large-scale political-diplomatic work for years. ‘Occupant’ Armenia was recognized in the USA and Europe as a democratic free country while Azerbaijan was portrayed as a monster. For over 20 years Armenia received substantial support from Russia, America, Europe, and other countries.
10. Azerbaijan had been arming itself with Israeli drones for nearly a decade, even utilizing ‘Harops’ in the April 2016 war. However, the war was won by Turkish ‘Bayraktar TB2s’ which were acquired throughout 2020.
11. Although Azerbaijan does not trust the international tribunal, all crimes committed by Armenians and damages inflicted are documented and soon legal proceedings will commence.
12. If the Armenian leadership had accepted Azerbaijan's proposal on October 7, the defeat for the Armenian side wouldn't have been as humiliating. Additionally, it would have spared thousands of young lives, whose deaths lie on Pashinyan's conscience. Armenians would have retained several territories.
13. (Taking a mocking tone), To this day it remains unclear where Pashinyan signed that capitulation act; it would be interesting to know purely for historical reasons.
14. When Armenia signed the act of capitulation, a decision was immediately made to organize a victory parade. Because during the 44 days, the long-oppressed Azerbaijani people transformed into a victorious nation.
15. The Armenian army was well equipped, possessing good arms, some of which Azerbaijan captured as loot. The current leadership of Armenia does not understand what tragedy it has brought to the region.
16. A peace treaty and normalization of relations are necessary; however, there are no positive expectations from Armenia. If Armenia continues its territorial claims against Azerbaijan, then Azerbaijan will appropriately present territorial claims to Armenia concerning historic Zangezur and the area around Lake Sevan.
17. Why should a capitulator have the right to raise questions about the status of Artsakh?
18. If Armenians do not gather their wits, Azerbaijan will be forced to punish them a second time. They must not provoke Azerbaijan.

This is how, through shame, weakness, ignorance, and the barbaric image they live with, Azerbaijanis have thanks to Nikol and Ilham become ‘civilized,’ ‘victorious,’ ‘arrogant,’ ‘creative,’ ‘intelligent,’ ‘constructive,’ and ‘well-mannered.’ Nikol solved the Artsakh issue in a way that is acceptable to the Azerbaijani people. This was Aliyev's indirect message in his lengthy interview. Aliyev’s words need not be true in everything. However, the phenomenon that compels us once again to draw conclusions is evident. And the first step is to immediately remove the disgraceful capitulators and judge them.”
