Detention of Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan's Son Confirmed

The court has confirmed the detention of Karen Poghosyan, the son of Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan. This was stated by Vardan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, in response to a question from Hetq.

After being on the run for about two months following the gunfire incident in Goris on July 14, Karen Poghosyan voluntarily presented himself to the Investigative Committee. The incident occurred at the intersection of Getapnya and Garegin Nzhdeh streets near the statue of Axel Bakunts, which resulted in two people being hospitalized.

On one side of the incident was Karen Poghosyan, while on the other side was Tigran Khachatryan, the son of former Syunik governor Surik Khachatryan. As part of the criminal case initiated over the incident, Karen Poghosyan has been charged.
