The Request for Armen Charutyans Release on Bail Postponed: Forensic Examination Appointed
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has postponed the request for the release of Professor Armen Charutyun on bail, appointing a forensic medical examination. Reports Hayrapet.
Presiding Judge Vahe Misakyan announced that the request for release on bail will be discussed anew after receiving the results of the forensic medical examination.
The forensic examination will determine the health conditions of Armen Charutyun, the treatment he requires, and whether these conditions correspond to the diseases incompatible with detention.
It is worth noting that Charutyun's defenders have set the bail amount at 20 million AMD.
Charutyun is charged under Article 154.2, Part 4, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (offering bribes to voters, receiving bribes, violating the ban on charity during elections or obstructing the free will of the voter).
