Sanctions May Be Imposed Against Turkish Bayraktars, Naira Zohrabyan
Former MP Naira Zohrabyan wrote on her Facebook page that the U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill demanding the immediate release of all Armenian prisoners of war by Azerbaijan. The bill was presented by 16 members of the House, accompanied by a report detailing Azerbaijan's committed war crimes, including the use of illegal munitions and chemical weapons such as white phosphorus against the civilian population.
The bill also calls for an investigation utilizing American technologies into the Turkish Bayraktars that were used to target Armenian civilians during the 2020 Artsakh war. Based on the study’s findings, a report will be compiled, and experts and legislators do not rule out the possibility of specific sanctions against the Bayraktars.
The bill further suggests examining the international convention against the involvement, use, financing, and training of mercenaries, which, according to the document, has likely been violated during the second Nagorno-Karabakh war. It states that Azerbaijan, with Turkey's support, included groups composed of mercenary terrorists in military operations.
