Relatives of Missing Soldiers Protest in Front of National Security Service Building
Relatives of missing soldiers are currently protesting in front of the National Security Service building. They demand that effective measures be taken to locate their sons and are also calling for a meeting with the head of the NSS.
A relative of one of the missing soldiers reported that out of 21 missing servicemen, only the bodies of 9 have been found. “Only the bodies of 8 soldiers have been identified. We still can't determine who one of them is. On the 17th day of the war, the children were taken to the Hadrut region when it was almost surrendered,” said a woman.
According to her, all 21 missing soldiers were from one of the military units in Stepanakert. The parents mentioned that they have met with various officials but have achieved no significant results; there is still no list of prisoners of war.
“We don’t want bread or water; we want our children. Let someone tell me: your child is dead or a prisoner, but give us some news,” said another soldier's mother.
It is noteworthy that the relatives entered the NSS reception area, stating that they would remain there until their issue is resolved. They urged journalists to leave the building.
It should be recalled that relatives of the missing have frequently staged protests in front of various government departments, including the government, the Ministry of Defense, and embassies. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held several meetings with the relatives of the missing; however, after each meeting, the relatives have expressed dissatisfaction with the responses they received.
