Police in Yerevan Conduct Operation 'What Does the Donkey Know About the Almond?'
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on August 9, under the direction of Police Colonel Arthur Umrshatyans, a special operation was conducted in Yerevan. As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the operation was named 'What Does the Donkey Know About the Almond?' and was prompted by the fact that yesterday, images were shared online showing the driver of a 'Niva' brand car maliciously violating traffic rules and parking in a disrespectful manner at one of the cafes in the Nor Nork administrative district, creating an obstacle for citizens' free movement.
Shortly after the post went viral, under Umrshatyans' orders, the commander of Yerevan police regiment, Khachik Sampilov, tasked the personnel of the regiment's 2nd battalion, led by commander Levon Badalyan, to promptly identify the violator 'Niva'.
Within nearly 45 minutes, the patrol officers spotted the 'hero' 'Niva' on Artsakh Street, known to the public as 'Tetzi Krugum'. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was transported to a specially protected area of the Yerevan regiment, and the driver was subjected to administrative penalties.
The Patrol Service of the Republic of Armenia Police urges drivers not to violate traffic rules; otherwise, regardless of the violator's position, occupation, or vehicle model, they will face administrative responsibility, and if necessary, the vehicle will be moved to a protected special area.
According to the photojournalist's sources, the 'Niva' was driven by 21-year-old Vahagn Militonian, a resident of Yerevan.
