Ministry of Defense to Conduct Quarterly Training Assemblies for Reservists Starting August 25
The Ministry of Defense has presented a draft decision to the public, which foresees the conduct of training assemblies for reservists from August 25 to November 25, 2021. It also includes the involvement of transportation means from bodies with military transport obligations, and sets the relationships connected to the conduct of training assemblies.
According to the draft, guided by Article 58, Part 2 of the Republic of Armenia’s Law on Military Service and Status of Servicemen and Article 28, Part 1 of the Law on Defense, the Government of Armenia will determine:
- To declare training assemblies for reservists registered in the first category of the first group of the reserve, including privates, non-commissioned officers, and officers, for a period of three months from August 25 to November 25, 2021.
- To involve up to 2169 citizens for the training assemblies, of which 1164 are privates, 254 are non-commissioned officers, and 751 are officers from the reserve with qualifications in motorized infantry, missile-artillery, communications, reconnaissance, and engineering.
- For the provision of training assemblies, to involve up to 110 units of transportation means from bodies having military transport obligations for the three-month period from August 25 to November 25, 2021, as per the annex.
- To stipulate that the training assemblies are declared for the improvement and retraining of the military capabilities of the reservists and for possible involvement in combat duty as necessary according to the contract signed with them.
- To ensure the medical examination of reservists involved in the training assemblies by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the territorial subdivisions of the draft and mobilization service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
- To authorize the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia to release citizens involved in the training assemblies from reserve earlier than the specified period if the necessity no longer exists, and to return the engaged transportation means to the relevant bodies with military transport obligations.
