Remains of Passengers from Crashed An-26 Plane Retrieved from the Sea in Kamchatka
The retrieval of the remains of passengers from the An-26 aircraft that crashed in Kamchatka has begun. There were 28 people on board the plane during the accident, including 6 crew members and 22 passengers, two of whom were children. All are presumed to have perished, as reported by Interfax.
According to the latest data, rescuers have discovered the bodies of 19 deceased individuals, which will be sent for examination and identification. It is believed that the aircraft collided with a coastal rock, with some debris falling into the sea, while other parts were found near the settlement of Palana, about 4-5 kilometers away from the runway.
The cause of the crash is likely attributed to bad weather and low visibility. The Russian Investigative Committee has considered several possible reasons for the plane's crash, including adverse weather conditions, technical malfunctions, and pilot error.
President Vladimir Putin has instructed to assist the families of the victims who died as a result of the An-26 plane crash in Kamchatka.
