Residents of Artsakh Demand Araik Harutyunyan's Resignation
Today, a number of citizens held a protest in Renaissance Square in Stepanakert, demanding that the President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, resign. One of the protesters emphasized that those gathered in Stepanakert represent only a small part of the citizens who believe that Araik Harutyunyan should step down.
“The people of Artsakh cannot congratulate Nikol Pashinyan. We do not pursue any political goals; no political force has organized this. The people have come to say that Araik Harutyunyan must leave, and it is written on the papers 'Step down! You do not express the views of Artsakh’s population,'” said the protester.
The organizer of the rally also noted that the ruling party makes decisions and confronts people with facts. One of the participants in the protest stated during their speech that they want to continue living and creating in Artsakh, which is the safest place for them.
“Unfortunately, our beloved Artsakh territories are under Turkish control because the capitulator Nikol Pashinyan and the not-so-desirable capitulator Araik Harutyunyan systematically lied and deceived the people of Artsakh during the 44-day war, assuring them that everything was fine,” the citizen concluded.
