US Embassy Responds to Reports of a Secret Meeting Between Nikol Pashinyan and the Ambassador in Syunik
The United States Embassy in Armenia has issued a statement addressing reports regarding a supposed secret meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Ambassador Lynn Tracy in Syunik. The embassy noted, "Over the past few weeks, several publications have emerged regarding Ambassador Tracy's visit to Syunik in April, which contain incorrect information. The ambassador's visit to Syunik was unrelated to visits by other officials, and during her time in Syunik, Ambassador Tracy did not meet or speak with Prime Minister Pashinyan or President Sargsyan.
As we previously stated, the ambassador traveled to Syunik to gain firsthand insights from local officials and partners of the U.S. Embassy regarding the situation created by the dual impact of the pandemic and the war. The ambassador also met with beneficiaries of U.S. government grant programs and discussed ways to ensure the continuity of cooperation in support of Syunik's recovery and development."
