Production of Borjomi Mineral Water Halted in Georgia as Workers Strike
Production of Borjomi mineral water has been halted in Georgia due to a strike by approximately 400 workers. According to lenta.ru, management and employees at the Borjomi Number 1 and Number 2 bottling plants have been unable to reach an agreement for four consecutive days.
The employees initiated the strike on May 18, demanding higher wages, time off, and compensation for overtime work. Additionally, one of the main causes of the disagreement is related to union issues. Strikers refuse to negotiate with management without the involvement of union members and have no plans to cease their protests.
