Search Warrant Issued for Suspected Murderer in Yerevan
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported that extensive investigative and procedural actions conducted by the Yerevan City Investigative Division of the Avan and Nor Nork Administrative Districts have revealed several circumstances surrounding the murder of a 37-year-old man that occurred on May 8 on Moldovan Street in Yerevan. The identity of the suspected perpetrator, who is a 30-year-old resident of Yerevan, has also been established.
The Committee's Information and Public Relations Division indicates that based on a sufficient combination of evidence, a decision has been made to involve the suspect as an accused under Article 34-104, part 2, point 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (attempted murder of two or more persons) and part 1 of Article 235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of weapons, military ammunition, explosives, or explosive devices).
On the same day, a search warrant was issued for the individual, and a motion was submitted to the court requesting the application of detention as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
Note: The suspected individual in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, by a court’s legally binding verdict.
