What Remains of Armenia's 29,000 Square Kilometers: Comments from Former NSS Officers
After the war, a new border has formed in Armenia, stretching from the Araks River to Vardenis. I cannot say what remains from the 29,000 square kilometers; however, what is currently being done at the border is incorrect. This was stated by Armen Abrahamyan, a member of the NSS Reserve Officers Union NGO, during a meeting with journalists, addressing the question of what remains from the 29,000 square kilometers.
“You have heard that demarcation is being conducted, but this process is not being carried out correctly. There should be a commission which includes members from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cadastre Geodesy Institute. However, leaving this matter to the military to resolve with weapons is a mistake. This is such a serious issue that it should not be left to the military,” he added.
