Syunik Governorate Denies Reports of Azerbaijani Infiltration into the Region
The information circulating online stating that Azerbaijanis have completely occupied the area around Lake Sevan and infiltrated the Syunik region is not accurate. This was announced on the official Facebook page of the Syunik Governorate.
The statement emphasizes that, at this moment, the Azerbaijani side has not even deployed positions in its part, and the materials being circulated are disinformation. This was confirmed by Major General J. Poghosyan, commander of the First Army Corps, who has been present in that area for the past two days.
The Syunik Governorate highlights that the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, as during the Soviet era, still passes through the territory of the lake, with each side currently controlling its respective area. Furthermore, no territory has been ceded from the Syunik region in the 'Black Lake' nature reserve.
