Materials Prepared Against MP Hayk Sargsyan, Known as the 'Bottle Grabber'
Materials are being prepared based on the report of the 'Corruption Prevention Commission' regarding MP Hayk Sargsyan, known as the 'Bottle Grabber'. In response to a written inquiry from 'Factinfo', the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia stated that materials sent to the Prosecutor General's Office regarding MP Hayk Sargsyan have been forwarded to the Special Investigative Service of Armenia for preparation of materials in accordance with Articles 180-181 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia.
As previously reported, the 'Corruption Prevention Commission' noted that the substantial change in the revenues declared by the MP in 2018 is not substantiated by sources of legal income. This means that before holding the office, he had other income, and the increase afterward was unsubstantiated, raising suspicions.
It should be noted that if a new Prime Minister is not elected on May 10, the parliament will dissolve, and Hayk Sargsyan will no longer have parliamentary immunity; therefore, there will be no need to obtain the parliament’s consent to initiate charges.
