MPs from 'My Step' Refuse to Allocate 50,000 Drams to Disabled Soldiers, Urikhanyan

Independent MP Tigran Urikhanyan has presented a proposal suggesting that the 50,000 drams earmarked for MPs as compensation for their activities be allocated to soldiers injured in the Second Artsakh War. However, the primary committee has issued a negative conclusion on the proposal.

In an interview with Factor Info, Urikhanyan noted that his proposal was quite simple: the country is facing serious social issues, which is why he suggests allocating the funds intended for MPs, totaling 80 million drams annually, to the soldiers who have suffered disabilities in the recent war. “They are individuals in a much tougher situation. Unfortunately, representatives of the ruling party voted against the proposal at the committee meeting, and there are concerns that the political majority will vote against the bill during the four-day session,” said the MP.

Tigran Urikhanyan emphasized that it would be appropriate to allocate 80 million drams from the non-salary part of MPs’ compensation to the 114 soldiers with first-degree disabilities.
