Kocharian Explains Why He is Returning
“I have successful experience in forming defense and security systems. I have experience in state governance, successful experience as well. I have also gained experience in the private sector,” said Armenia's second president Robert Kocharian during a meeting with his supporters, adding that he has been a member of the board of directors of the investment company 'Systema' for 11 years.
“So why am I returning? I was brought back. If the country’s situation were good, and work in the private sector was so interesting, I would never have even thought of returning. But to remain indifferent in this situation, to say, 'well, someone will solve this issue'—I don’t see anyone who will. Maybe there are people who still think they are capable of solving it. I want to believe they are right, but in my impression, for this situation, I am among those who have the most biography, experience, and knowledge,” he stated.
