Prosecutor's Office Appeals Decision to Halt Criminal Proceedings Against Kocharyan
The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has appealed the decision of the first-instance court to discontinue criminal proceedings against the third President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, and others under part 1 of Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code regarding the March 1 case. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by the Head of the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, Arevik Khachatryan.
It is important to note that on April 6, Judge Anna Danibekyan of the Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan decided to halt criminal proceedings against all individuals involved in the criminal case against Robert Kocharyan and others. Prior to this, the Constitutional Court announced that Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code, related to the overthrow of the constitutional order, does not comply with certain provisions of the Constitution.
