Fried Greens Gathered from the Garden: Cause of 12-Year-Old Girl's Death Revealed
In the village of Getahovit in the Tavush province, it has been revealed that the cause of the poisoning that led to the death of a 12-year-old girl, as well as the poisoning of other family members, was fried greens gathered from the garden. This information was provided to Sputnik Armenia by Susanna Chabukhyan, the secretary of the Getahovit community administration.
"There are rumors in the village that the mother of the family gathered greens from the garden and prepared them, but we do not know what type. I know that the parents reported this to the doctor, and a preliminary diagnosis of food poisoning was made at the hospital," she said.
According to her, the condition of the other minor in the family, a 14-year-old boy, is stable. The family’s mother and father are receiving treatment at Heratsi No. 1 Hospital. The hospital's spokesperson Shushan Danielyan reported on her Facebook page that their condition is satisfactory.
“The necessary medical assistance has been provided to the victims in the emergency care department. At this moment, the health condition of the victims is under the supervision of various specialists, including a reanimatologist, infectious disease specialist, and toxicologist. Additional information will be provided,” she wrote.
It should be noted that this morning, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that on April 19 at 22:26, four members of a family from the village of Getahovit were transported to the medical center in Ijevan, Tavush province, after being diagnosed with preliminary food poisoning: the 41-year-old parents and their 12 and 14-year-old children. Unfortunately, the 12-year-old child passed away in the hospital.
