What Principles Will Shape the ‘My Step’ List?
The 2018 electoral list of ‘My Step’ was predominantly composed of high-ranking officials, following a hierarchical principle. Nikol Pashinyan was followed by Ararat Mirzoyan, the first woman on the list was Lena Nazaryan, and then came Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, Alen Simonyan, Sasun Mikayelyan, Lilit Makunts, Suren Papikyan, Zarouhi Batoyan, Eduard Aghajanyan, Ruben Rubinyan, and Romanos Petrosyan.
In contrast, in 2017, intra-party voting was conducted, among other practices. This time, however, the list will be formed solely by the leader, reflecting his approval or disapproval regarding his team members.
According to our sources, despite ongoing dissatisfaction with Ararat Mirzoyan, it seems likely that his name will appear in second place. The competition for the title of the first woman on the list is between Lena Nazaryan and Lilit Makunts. Sasun Mikayelyan will likely improve his position as he commands a significant number of votes in the Kotayk region. Ruben Rubinyan and Suren Papikyan are also expected to enhance their standings.
